Brawler Bar Competitor Packs

Driven by our love for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, we created competitor packs for the 2026 Regional Victoria Jiu Jitsu Championships. It was our way of supporting the local community, recognising the courage it takes to compete, and offering athletes a little practical encouragement on the day.t description.

LOCAL IMPACT

At Brawler Bar, we want to build something that goes beyond simply running a business. We want to invest in people and give back to the communities that matter to us. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a big part of that, we love the sport, the people who practise it and the events that bring everyone together to learn, compete, connect and grow.

On 19 September 2026, we had the chance to put that into action by creating competitor packs for the Regional Victoria Jiu Jitsu Championships at Wurdi Baierr Stadium in Torquay. We wanted to support a local BJJ event, encourage the people stepping onto the mats and offer a few useful things to make competition day a little easier. But more importantly, we wanted every pack to carry a simple message: showing up matters, and Brawler Bar is behind you.

Supporting the Sport We Love

You can follow the making of the competitor packs on our socials, from gathering the items and writing the notes to putting the finished bags together. We’re proud to share this part of the Brawler Bar story and give you a closer look at the care and thought that went into every pack.

To everyone who stepped onto the mats at the Regional Victoria Jiu Jitsu Championships, thank you for being part of the community we love. Your willingness to compete is what makes local events possible, and it may even give someone else the courage to challenge themselves. We hope our small contribution made your day a little easier, more encouraging and more memorable.

The Courage to Compete

Follow the Creation

There is something powerful about choosing to compete. Before the match even begins, you have already decided to step beyond the comfort of regular training, test what you have learned and face an outcome you cannot control. And that takes courage! It means accepting the nerves, the pressure and the possibility that the day may not go the way you hoped. It also means trusting your preparation and being willing to learn from the experience. Whether it is your first competition or one of many, stepping onto the mats deserves to be recognised and encouraged.

We wanted the competitor packs to recognise that choice. Medals and results matter, but they are not the only things that make a competition meaningful. Whatever happened on the mats, our message was the same: we’re glad you showed up, we’re cheering you on and we appreciate the work and courage it took to be there.

A Few Things to Make the Day Easier

We put each pack together with the reality of competition day in mind. Inside was a sample of The Impurity Rock soap, an electrolyte drink sachet, a protein bar, Brawler Bar stickers, a small branded badge and a discount card for a future order. We chose each item to be practical and useful while also serving as a small reminder that the local community was supporting them.

Competition days can be long, with plenty of waiting, warming up and trying to manage your energy between matches. We included a snack and an electrolyte sachet that competitors could keep close by, as well as something useful for after their match. We also added a thank-you note to remind them that, whatever the result, we were cheering them on.

For us, the meaning behind the packs mattered just as much as what was inside them. We wanted each one to feel personal, thoughtful and genuine. It was a small gesture from people who love the same sport and want to see its community continue to grow. The note began with a simple message: thanks for stepping onto the mats. Those words captured the heart of the whole project. Competing asks a lot of you, and we wanted to recognise the courage it takes to give it a go.

Local Impact Starts with Showing Up

Supporting our local BJJ community is an important part of the future we want to build for Brawler Bar. We want to contribute to the events that bring people together, strengthen relationships within the sport and encourage the athletes who are willing to put their training to the test. The competitor packs gave us a practical place to start. They allowed us to give our time, resources and care to an event that reflects so much of what we value. Small gestures may not change an entire community on their own, but we want people to feel seen, welcomed and supported.

We’re still growing, and so is our ability to give back. As Brawler Bar develops, we hope to keep finding meaningful ways to support local events, build lasting relationships and contribute to the sport that has given us so much. This was one small step, and we’re excited to see where the next opportunity takes us.

Thank you for reading.
