By becoming JHYB’s official Australian stockists, Brawler Bar can now offer their apparel to more people here, making it easier for customers to connect with the brand’s unique story and values. You’ll also start seeing JHYB shirts out on the mats and at martial arts competitions around Victoria alongside Brawler Bar. It gives people the chance to see the range in person, learn a little more about the story behind JHYB, and helps bring the brand into the Australian martial arts community that has played such an important part in connecting our two businesses.

While both JHYB and Brawler Bar share a deep connection to the martial arts community, what truly excites us is our shared belief that business can and should serve people, rather than simply ourselves. We genuinely hope this is just the beginning of our relationship with JHYB. As our businesses continue to grow and evolve, we’re excited to keep championing what JHYB is building in Bali, sharing their story, and discovering new ways to support each other and the communities we care about. We may come from different brands and different backgrounds, and our stories may be unique. JHYB is a unique lifestyle brand based in Bali that brings together clothing, great coffee, martial arts, a vibrant community, and an unapologetic faith in Jesus Christ. What started as a few shirts made for friends has blossomed into something much greater: a brand with its own flagship café and store in Canggu, and a mission that reaches far beyond the products on its shelves.

A Shirt That Started Conversations

The very first JHYB shirt was inspired by one of founder Ronny’s tattoos: a cartoon depiction of Jesus taking Satan’s back. The design was intentionally bold and humorous, meant to spark curiosity and invite conversations, and it worked. As these shirts caught people’s attention, they quickly became an unconventional yet effective way to spark discussions about faith and belief. Along the journey, Ronny crossed paths with Toan, whose passion for finding creative ways to share the message of Jesus matched his own. What began as a friendship soon became the foundation for JHYB, ultimately leading to the launch of their flagship store and café in Canggu in July 2025.

For us, the attraction to JHYB went far beyond the clothing itself or even the story behind its beginnings. What truly inspired us was their vision for what the business could become and the impact it could have on people’s lives.

Business That Creates Opportunity

JHYB has woven generosity into the very heart of its operations. Their community-focused model is designed to pay staff nearly twice the island's average wage, share half of the company’s profits directly with employees, and actively support team members in their dreams of one day starting their own businesses.

Their space in Canggu isn’t just a café or a store but it’s also a welcoming hub for churches to gather for Bible studies and community events. Here, people from different Christian backgrounds can come together and connect. This approach to business deeply resonates with us at Brawler Bar: we believe in building something good, and then using what we have to open doors and create opportunities for others.

How Our Stories Connected

Our connection with JHYB grew the way many meaningful relationships do through people, community and one introduction leading naturally to the next. Woon and Amy played a big part in building those relationships. Through Akademi Kristus, they connected with Sam and River, who later introduced them to Toan. From there came the introduction to Ronny, and what started as a chain of mutual connections gradually developed into a genuine relationship between Brawler Bar and JHYB.

That relationship eventually opened the door for Brawler Bar to become JHYB’s Australian stockist. For us, that makes this partnership particularly meaningful, as it wasn’t something created through a typical business approach; it grew through friendship, trust, shared faith and people who genuinely believed in what each other was building. We’re not just adding another clothing label to our shelves. Instead, we’re backing people we believe in and helping introduce their stories and missions to a whole new community here in Australia.
